The BETT show was a large success for NUITEQ as most of the companies that showcased their multi-touch hardware solutions, used Snowflake to highlight the capabilities of this technology.

As education is an important market vertical for NUITEQ, we were very happy to see the great amount of positive feedback our multi-touch software received.

Its rewarding to see how our product can be used in educational scenarios to help children improve the way they learn.

Last week I was in Los Angeles attending the Red Herring Global Forum to present NUITEQ in the finals of this prestigious innovative technology industry award program.

I’m excited to announce that after winning the 2010 Red Herring 100 Europe in mid 2010, NUITEQ now has won the 2010 Red Herring 100 Global Award!

Through this way, I want to thank all our employees for working very hard on innovative and creative multi-touch software solutions.

Furthermore I want to thank our clients and partners for their business, inspiration and feedback, without our loyal and new customers we wouldn’t be able to run this business.

Additionally I want to thank our competitors for their inspiration and the drive to stay focused to ensure that end of the day the end clients get the best possible solutions.

I believe that this award is not only an award for our company, clients and partners, but in my opinion it is also an award to the industry, to show that multi-touch is a game changer and will have a massive impact on the way people interact with computers now and in the future.

Also I’d like to thank the Red Herring organization for making this award possible and creating such an amazing platform for entrepreneurs, angels and VC’s to connect with each other.

NUITEQ Awarded as a prestigious Red Herring Global 100 Winner

Red Herring Unveils Global 100 of Tech Startups

Santa Monica, California, USA / Skellefteå, Sweden - January 27 2011 - Red Herring announced its Global 100 award in recognition of the leading private companies from North America, Europe, and Asia, celebrating these startups’ innovations and technologies across their respective industries.

Red Herring’s Global 100 list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Google, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com, YouTube, eBay and many others would change the way we live and work.

“Choosing the best out of the previous three years was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, Chairman of Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed down our list from 1,200 potential companies to 200 finalists. Trying to get it down to 100 companies was a task upon itself. NUITEQ should be extremely proud of its achievement, the competition was difficult.”

“It is an incredible honor to be a Red Herring Global 100 Winner. Previous award winners include Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Netscape and YouTube, so that says something about how prestigious this listing is.”, says NUITEQ’s CEO Harry van der Veen. “I’m thankful for everybody that made this possible and we are now looking forward with this trophy in our pocket, to raise our next round of venture capital to accelerate the growth of our exciting business.”

Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated the companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list an invaluable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the greatest business opportunities from around the world.

One of the market verticals that we are especially excited about, is education.

Children have very short attention spans, especially when it concerns learning. With multi-touch technology you attract the attention of students and let them engage with digital content in a very playful, natural and intuitive way.

Research shows that children that use multi-touch technology, experience the learning process not as learning, but as playing, therefore making it more fun and helping in being more memorable.

Multi-touch technology improves collaboration skills and communication skills such as listening and speaking.

We believe this technology will become a complementing tool (not replacement of existing tools) in school classes, to help improve learning, allowing children to develop new skills faster.

NUITEQ’s Business Development Manager Dennis Mohi will be attending BETT, the largest educational technology show in London from 12 - 14 of January this week.

If you are planning to visit BETT or if you are in London and want to meet Dennis and learn more on how NUITEQ can improve learning, let us know here.
